How Waiting for Someday Murders Your Dreams
Let’s see if this describes you
Someday is a really bad idea…

Let’s see if this sounds like you..
You’ve got big dreams. Maybe you imagine traveling the world, falling in love, or starting your own company.
But there’s a pull that holds you back. The world says, “Those dreams are great, but first, settle down, take the job, play it safe.”
And the dangerous lie we tell ourselves is that we can always do those things later.
Narrator: He did not do it later. He kept doing the same things until his dreams faded away.
The Illusion of Safety
The message is simple: The ‘safe path’ isn’t really safe. It’s dangerous to your dreams.
Safety kills your ambition and your sense of adventure. It’s like a slow-moving danger that quietly snuffs out dreams.
The ‘safe path’ keeps you in an “okay” relationship, living in your hometown, and postponing that trip to Europe until “things settle down.”
But guess what? Things never settle down. You just stay busy. And “later” never comes.
Why "Later" is Dangerous
“Later” is one of the most dangerous words in English. Whenever I hear it, I’m ready to fight. “Later” and “Someday” have killed more dreams than you can count.
Forget that. Start the business, tour with the band, backpack through Thailand—whatever it is, do it now. Not when you’re 31 with a wife, kids, and a mortgage.
You’ve got to risk it for the biscuit.
(If you’re a 31-year-old reading this, now is STILL the right time to do it. It’s better than waiting until you’re 41 with an achy back and years of playing it safe.)
Why Now is the Time
If you’re called to do something, the right time is now.
Older folks know it’s true. If you’re 20-27, you might not realize it yet. You’re in the Ramen Era, a golden time when you don’t mind sleeping on a couch or living off ramen. You have no one to take care of but yourself.
Sure, you’re broke and have no skills, but you have maximum flexibility and nothing to lose.
Even Warren Buffett would trade all his money to be a 22-year-old again. That’s how powerful youth is.
But when you’re young, you get tricked by “Someday” and “Later.” They tell you there’s still plenty of time to do what you really want after finishing what you’re doing now.
Don't Let Youth Slip Away
But we become like trained dogs, stuck doing the same things and losing the muscle to chase what we really want.
This is why people say, “Youth is wasted on the young.”
Don’t fall for the illusion of safety. Go on adventures. Find the people you love and the projects you were meant to do.
